Daily Grace
One passage. One idea. A few quiet minutes. Short devotional readings for people being formed by grace, written from a small chair beside still water in Falcon, Colorado.
Pull one up. Read slowly. There is no hurry here.
No One Left at the Bottom
When I was a Boy Scout we went every summer to a place called Camp Kootaga, and I had most of my firsts there.
House to House
That is how it actually spread, and every time the church forgets it, the church calcifies and then it dies, and then somebody in a living room somewhere starts it again.
Your Real Congregation
Most of your neighboring will happen where you work, and almost nobody is preparing you for that.
Afraid Yet Filled With Joy
The angel gives them the invitation first. Come and see. Come and look at the place where he was lying, and see that it is empty.
Embedded or Irrelevant
He goes to the marketplace and argues every day with whoever happens to be there. He goes into the synagogue.
He Is in No Hurry With You
Some wounds close in a week and some do not close for years, and I have had to stop treating that as a character flaw.
What It Costs
I would rather say that plainly than dress it up, because I have watched too many people leave the work of love without ever being told the truth about what it costs, and then blame themselves for the wounds.
And the Lord Heard It
That is the whole verse, or near enough, and it is the shortest and most terrifying line in the chapter.
